President's Message

NASVH President

Welcome to the NASVH Website! We hope that you will find the information contained herein useful and relevant. By partnering with our member Homes and affiliates we strive to keep the site current with up-to-date information. Members should notify us of any changes in State Veteran's Home information. Should you have any suggestions for improvement, please follow the link on the site and we will make every effort to include your suggestions. The Association takes pride in the website and its accuracy.

This year, NASVH held the summer conference in Orlando, Florida. The conference was a tremendous success with over 165 NASVH members in attendance, a new record, and more than 45 family members. The hotel staff and accommodations at Rosen Shingle Creek were outstanding. The Rosen Property Management Team did a fantastic job of welcoming the membership and providing opportunities to explore the Orlando area. Once again the Educational and Summer Conference Committee members demonstrated their commitment to providing the best in networking and educational opportunities. A total of 17 CEU's were offered at this year's conference. If you missed this event you missed a good one!

The Executive Committee continues to work toward improving the Association and the educational offerings at our conferences. The Executive committee hopes to see all of you at our mid-winter conference in Alexandria, Virginia. This year the mid-winter conference will be held February 12 – 15, 2018, at Embassy Suites Alexandria Old Town. While you are marking your calendar for our mid-winter conference be sure to pencil in our 2018 summer conference which will be held in Seattle, Washington. The dates of the summer conference have not been confirmed, as we work with the hotel to get the best value for our members. The conference is usually held mid-late July or early August. We plan to work diligently with our NASVH members in Seattle to ensure an outstanding conference for summer 2018. We hope to see you there!

It will be an honor and privilege, for the next year, to serve as President of an organization committed to caring and advocating for America's Heroes. I have such an outstanding Executive Team, Committee Chairs, Past Presidents and Regional Directors all ready and willing to assist in our mission. As we move forward together, we will face many challenges for our Homes and the Association. I am confident that, as a team committed to the same shared values, we can conquer even the most difficult tasks.

If there is anything we can do to assist you, please let us know. Best Regards,

Sharon L. Murphy
